Did you know that the month of love is also National Heart Month?

Did you also know that 1 in 3 people will die from heart disease and that cardiovascular disease claims the lives of 500,000 American women per year?

The purpose of National Heart Month is to make people aware that the #1 cause of death in the U.S. is cardiovascular disease AND that this is an almost entirely preventable disease with a healthy lifestyle.

Let’s start reducing these statistics, by loving ourselves, family, and friends with the motivation and support to make healthier lifestyle changes together.

Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and chocolate is the go-to-treat of this very sweet holiday, why not make this week’s chocolate pudding recipe from scratch with heart healthy ingredients… avocado and unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder!


Yield: 6 servings = 1/3 cup per serving

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 banana
  • 1/3 cup of honey (or agave syrup)
  • 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup of peanut butter (substitute with almond butter or any other nut/seed butter)


Add all the ingredients into a blender.


Calories: 128 kcal, Fat: 5g, Cholesterol: 0 mg, Carbohydrate: 24 g, Dietary Fiber: 4g, Protein: 2g, Sodium: 8 mg
